At Boswell's we are passionate about creating pipes and beautiful pipe cabinets for the needs of our pipe smokers.  J.M. asked Craftsman Sean McKewen to design a pipe cabinet which was built -to-spec with our customer's needs in mind for all the different pipe sizes J.M. makes and sells.  Sean also kept in mind that J.M. wanted a high quality premium pipe cabinet for a reasonable price.

Sean has designed a pipe cabinet like no other on the market today!  He has revolutionized pipe cabinets for today's pipe collectors. 

Since November of 2002 Sean has been carefully crafting these specialized cabinets as an exclusive for our store here in Chambersburg, Pa.  Now we are introducing The McKewen Pipe Cabinet to the world.

Each cabinet is uniquely handcrafted one at a time from select red oak taking care to match the natural wood grains.  He then sands and carefully stains each piece with meticulous care.  Sean's wipes on a custom blended urethane finish which both protects and enhances the natural beauty of the wood.  His attention to detail is displayed with expert joinery and mitered doors, along with brass hardware which adds flair to this attractive piece.  The solid hardwood case is supported and stiffened by a luan plywood back.  The inside of the luan is covered with cork, as are the shelves on which your pipes will rest.   This serves both to enhance the looks of the cabinet and to protect your finest briar.  Incorporating both feet and an integral hanging bar, the cabinets can either be used freestanding, or hung on a wall.

The common pipe cabinet does not easily accommodate pipes of all sizes, particularly those with odd stems or unconventional shapes. Sean's special design uses a soft bristle system to hold each pipe in place, no matter what size the stem is.
